It was a pleasure to participate in the Poster Day that was organized by the Scientific Research Sector at Kuwait University. My student Hessah Osamah Alasousi, graduate student of Master of Information Studies, presented her research titled “MOTIVATING ACADEMIC LIBRARIANS: IMPLICATIONS OF MASLOW’S HIERARCHY OF NEEDS THEORY” which was conducted under my supervision. The purpose of the study was to examine the motivators of academic librarians that help them achieve their tasks efficiently. Also, it investigated the implications of Maslow’s theory of needs in managing an academic environment. The research followed a qualitative method using a survey. I was very proud of Hessah and her ambition and enthusiasm to conduct this research.
The Poster Day is one of the RS endeavors to engage faculties in projects that serve the community, and diverse issues that require expertise and knowledge. RS is committed to organize the poster day event annually as an ideal forum for spreading the culture of innovation and creativity in scientific research, as well as encouraging interdisciplinary research and collaboration across KU faculties, and beyond.
